LogoRRR 26.8.0 expands the practical scope of a log investigation. A useful part of a multi-gigabyte file can appear without first keeping every line in Java memory. Compressed support bundles can also move straight into the investigation instead of being prepared by hand.
Multi-gigabyte log files
When a file would place too much pressure on available memory, LogoRRR automatically selects its new disk-backed engine with bounded memory use. The visible window becomes available first. Search, filters, timestamps, and the timeline then extend progressively across the file, while the app shows how much of the analysis is ready.
In a controlled release test, LogoRRR opened an 8 GiB file with the Java heap capped at 256 MiB and navigated to its beginning, middle, and end. Storage speed, hardware, and the log itself still affect timing. The method and complete results are in the LogoRRR 26.8.0 performance report .
Compressed support bundles
Open ZIP, TAR, GZIP, and BZIP2 material from the file chooser or by drag and drop. LogoRRR confirms the destination, extracts safely into a dedicated folder, and opens the regular log files it finds there.
The app remembers the extraction root and keeps progress visible. Cancellation or failure removes incomplete output. If the destination already exists, LogoRRR asks before merging into it and replaces conflicting files only after confirmation. Supported filenames include .zip, .tar, .tar.gz, .tgz, .tar.bz2, .tbz2, .gz, .gzip, .bz2, and .bzip2.
Virtualized text view
The main log area now uses a virtualized rich-text model. Search colors, text selection, hover details, and result navigation remain coordinated without creating a separate interface element for every highlighted fragment. Result details also appear sooner, which makes consecutive matches easier to review in context.
The 10 MB free preview
Files up to and including 10 MB open in full for free. For a larger log, the free preview loads the first 10 MB so you can understand its structure, refine searches, and decide whether the evidence warrants a full investigation. LogoRRR Pro removes that limit and lets the selected engine analyze the entire file.
The free preview and LogoRRR Pro provide the same capabilities on macOS, Windows, and Linux. Purchase and restore steps differ between StoreKit and direct-license editions, but log analysis stays on your computer.
Settings now apply and close reliably, localized actions have the space they need, and support links pass cleanly to the appropriate system app. The aim of 26.8.0 is practical: open the material you received, reach useful evidence sooner, and keep investigating while the rest of the file is analyzed.
