Troubleshooting LogoRRR

Resolve common file, search, timestamp, archive, live-tail, merge, large-file, and settings problems.

Start with the visible state and the affected source. LogoRRR reports user-actionable failures in the interface and keeps technical details in its application log.

A file does not open

Confirm that the path still exists, points to a regular readable file, and is not blocked by permissions or another process. An unsupported or inaccessible source should produce a localized error without leaving a partial tab or persisted broken state.

If a dropped directory contains more files than the remaining 30-file capacity, choose to open only the newest files that fit or cancel.

A large file opens only as a preview

Free mode opens files up to 10 MiB completely and uses a bounded preview for larger sources. Continue with the preview or use the available Unlock Pro, Restore Purchases, or Check License action. See Large files and full-file access .

Search finds nothing

  • Confirm the term is active.
  • Turn Unclassified on temporarily so unmatched context is visible.
  • For Literal mode, check the actual text but not letter case.
  • For Regex mode, resolve the inline validation error and remember that matching is case-sensitive unless you use (?i).
  • Replace unsupported look-around or backreferences with RE2-compatible structure.
  • When large-file coverage is partial, allow the scan to continue before treating the current count as complete.

The timeline is empty or shifted

Open timestamp settings and compare the selected columns across several source lines. The pattern must match every selected character, including punctuation, fractions, and offsets. A timestamp without an offset uses the computer’s current time zone.

Press the dice button only when you want the built-in rules to replace the current draft with a proposal. Review the result before applying it.

Archive import fails

Check that the archive is supported, complete, unencrypted, and destined for a writable location. LogoRRR rejects unsafe paths, links, special entries, duplicate destinations, and malformed archives. If a destination already exists, choose another safe outcome rather than expecting silent overwrite.

Cancelling waits for staging cleanup. Leave the dialog open until it reports the final cancelled or failed state.

Follow mode stops updating

Read the live-tail state first. Paused needs Resume; Behind needs Jump to live when you want the newest rows; Reconnecting or Reloading indicates source lifecycle recovery. Use Retry after resolving permissions or source availability, or Stop when the source should no longer be followed.

Rotation or replacement creates a new source generation. LogoRRR does not mix pending results from the old generation into the new view.

A merge cannot start or finish

  • Reattach at least two logs to the main window.
  • Activate Pro full-file access.
  • Configure valid timestamps for sources that should be ordered chronologically.
  • Enter signed whole-number millisecond differences.
  • Choose a target distinct from all source and open files.
  • Use an existing writable directory with enough free space.

If a source changes during merge, review it and start again. A cancelled or failed merge leaves an existing destination untouched.

Settings do not look applied

Use Apply & Close to persist a settings draft. Escape and the window close control dismiss without applying the new draft. If configuration is no longer useful, review the consequences and use Reset to Factory Defaults.

Find the application log

Open the Help menu and choose Open LogoRRR’s log. Include the relevant visible error, source path when safe, and approximate time when asking for support. Review log contents for sensitive operational data before sharing them.
